"Friends Of Martha Care".
As a charity, we get invites to lots of events throughout the year, we're aiming to create a database of 'Friends of Martha Care' who we can call upon to assist us.
If you leave join our specific Facebook group, when we have a task come up we'll e-mail you.
Don't panic, If you're not a Facebook, please drop us an e-mail on the Contact us page.
You'll not be 'expected' to help out, the idea is if we can get a team of 20-25 voulnteers, we can e-mail everyone to see who is available, and of the replies choose who is best suited to the job.
The great thing is, we encourage and welcome all types of people, any age*, any gender!
*Under 16's will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Types of upcoming tasks include:
Marshalls for the carnival.
Marshalls for the Bike Ride out.
Halloween fun day.
& Many more...
We need an energetic person with excellent communication skills who can motivate and manage this team to organise the Friends of Martha Care activities.
This is not a paid position but the rewards can be enormous anyway, with the postholder gaining valuable experience which can be support potential professional fundraisers. This post will require the postholder to have a CRB check which we will pay for. We can also provide funding for training providing the postholder has demonstrated their commitment to Martha Care.
These friends will help to organise collections, events, publicity and awareness raising, holding raffles, getting prizes etc, including events such as Yellow Day, the Martha Care Motorcycle Ride Out, Charity Ball and any other good ideas the team come up with.

Collectors are needed for Glastonbury Carnival 12th November 2011
The carnival committee provide us with a generous proportion of the money the provide to charities for our help.
Martha Care sells programmes and badges at the start of the carnival procession and our collectors then pick up the money thrown at the floats. We also help out with counting the collected money at the Town Hall through the night of the carnival.
